Providing technical support (minimum of electrical and mechanical) in the correction, prevention and elimination of technical problems for the site.
Responsibilities & Accountability:
-To provide technical support in response to breakdowns on process and IT systems, plant and equipment, including good fault finding techniques.
-Deliver electrical and mechanical maintenance across the site on all equipment.
-Knowledge of PLCs and controls, invertors and drives.
-Respond promptly and effectively to ensure quick resolution to any equipment issues to minimise any downtime, quality and efficiency problems.
-Participate constructively as a member of the dept, keeping everyone informed and proactively share your knowledge and expertise within the team;
-Coach and train staff where appropriate;
-Apply lean thinking techniques to ensure the productive capability of the plant is optimised and improved thus demonstrating commitment towards achieving factory targets, including prompt start up times.
-Actively support the ‘lean thinking teams’;
-Work with site personnel and commissioning engineers to ensure required process skills training is performed for all new equipment;
-Continuously review the maintenance schedules to ensure standards of plant and equipment are maintained whilst minimising the labour required;
Develop daily maintenance schedules to ensure safe and efficient running of the plant and equipment, including compliance with our own Codes of Practice;
Completed Engineering Apprenticeship
C&G Level 3/ NVQ Level 3 / HNC or Equivalent
Understanding/basic competency of PLC controls
Competent in at least 5 mechanical and 5 Electrical skills
TPM/Lean engineering experience
Good knowledge of inverters and drives
Excellent Fault-finding techniques
Good understanding of isolation and safe working in non-qualified field
45hrs per week inclusive of every second Saturday.
Weekly rotation of 4am – 1pm/1pm – 10pm.
