My client is a specialist food manufacturer with multiple UK sites generate a turnover in excess of £10 million and employ over 500 people. They have a reputation for product quality and exceptional customer service.
Due to an internal restructure they have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager to lead the site team in achieving the operational & performance targets whilst adhering to company values and industry compliance standards.
Reporting to the Operations Director, the Operations Manager will be responsible for:
People, health & safety and continuous improvements.
All aspects of managing a safe and profitable manufacturing site with a specific focus on the
developing people and driving a continuous improvement culture.
Engaging and motivating employees through training, coaching and development to create a winning environment
Providing leadership for HSE, sustainability and risk management within the site
Ensuring a ‘right first time’ manufacturing standard to support the provision of outstanding customer service
Driving a continuous improvement culture through the effective use of lean manufacturing tools and
techniques to achieve cost reduction where possible
The ideal Operations Manager will have an Engineering background and at least 5 years’ experience in a senior management position working within a food manufacturing environment.
Commercial awareness with a proven track record of leading cultural and sustainable change as well as building and managing high performing teams.
You will have strategic mindset as well as being organised with a logical approach and excellent written and verbal communication skills
The successful Operations Manager can expect a salary and benefits package including a salary of up to £75,000 (dependent upon experience), plus a car allowance bonus. 25 Days annual leave (plus Bank Holidays), Healthcare and a matched pension.
