Main Purpose of Role

An integral part of the HR team working across both manufacturing sites, you are responsible for the provision of providing generalist HR support to the business. The role will involve working between 2 businesses.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide generalist, strategic and operational HR support to managers, delivered with pace, pragmatism and commercial thinking
  • Work closely with line managers to promote standardisation and consistency in the application of HR procedures across 2 sites by providing coaching, support, constructive challenging and objective feedback
  • By adopting a collaborative and coaching approach, drive a culture of management ownership of people, plans and goals
  • Partner with stakeholders to build expertise on the interpretation and application of HR policies – developing toolkits and workshops where necessary
  • Mentor the Hr coordinators with all people related matters, providing  direction and insight in order to achieve optimum people performance and minimise risk and financial exposure
  • Support in the design, development, maintenance and delivery of ER policies and associated processes, tools, templates and development programmes that reflect current legislation
  • Agreeing functional workforce plans with line managers and supporting them to recruit appropriately against the demands of future growth
  • Identify and calculate risks and flag or challenge appropriately with HR and Management teams
  • Build credibility with operations based staff by visible presence on the shop floor
  • Maintain accurate HR data in internal systems, databases and spread sheets
  • Through effective coaching and mentoring, develop the skills and expertise of stakeholders to increase knowledge and understanding of current employment legislation and encourage a commercial and pragmatic approach to identifying and implementing solutions in a timely manner

Job Environment & working hours

  • Monday – Friday between the hours of 8.30am and 5pm with flexibility to meet post demands

Education & Qualifications

  • CIPD Level 5 or Equivalent HR Degree
  • Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) or relevant professional qualification

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Demonstrable knowledge of employment law
  • 4 years + HR generalist experience gained within a fast paced operational environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively and influence staff at all levels of the business
  • Ability to deal with conflict and challenging situations
  • Ability to work flexibly in a busy HR environment, handling a demanding workload whilst maintaining focus and efficiency
  • Ability to build strong and credible relationships with stakeholders
  • Demonstrable problem solving and decision making
  • Ability to develop and gain buy-in to creative solutions and new approaches to HR service delivery
  • Detail orientated with excellent time management skills
  • Ability to manage expectations of stakeholders
  • Ability to adapt different communication styles
  • Excellent prioritisation skills
  • Commercial awareness, including an understanding of drivers of business performance
